KTL's tips are spot on: Here are few more:
  1. Clean the case perimeter holes to remove old Loctite. Otherwise old hardened Loctite "crumbs" inside the holes can break off and fall on the sealing surface when you assemble the case.
  2. If you use reusable rod bolts (like ARP), the machinist will need them when machining the rods. (They distort the rod end differently than the stock bolts.)
  3. Call me a heathen, but I never replace the distributor O-ring. I've never seen a leak there and using a new O-ring only makes it a pain to get the distributor in.

Buy (and use) Stomski's circlip injector tool. It's patented for a reason. I couldn't imagine installing the circlips without it.

Bingo on this sharpie idea! Gonna do it for my case redo! Thanks and I’ve borrowed the stomski clip installer.
