1967S exhaust options - ideas please?
I have a 2.2 short stroke 67s motor that will run weber 40ids3 carbs. I'm just now thinking of what type of exhaust to install. The motor is single plug and gas in NE Ohio usually has some alcohol in it. 93 octane gas is easy to supply.
The car will be driven as if it's a daily driver, not a garage queen. I don't listen to the radio. I listen to the car. I have an two older 911s with SSI's and I'm happy with them. But the 67s depends on a kettle fire in the smuggler box for heat. I'm not comfortable with that and I'm wondering if anyone here has installed SSIs on an early SWB car and how they routed the heat into the cockpit. Thanks, wj

I've used SSI's on these early cars for 30+ years with excellent success. Used with a factory muffler or equivalent Dansk, its a nice combination.
The ducting & hardware is the same as all the others without the gas heater. ![]()

Steve, ty. BTW, found a post of yours giving Paul at Performance Oriented the double thumbs up for Weber restoration. I'm on his list to have him do his magic on my 40ids3 webers. I wish I had the cash to have bought his 67s that he sold recently, what a hotrod!
