Can anybody help me with what this lead is?

it was not plugged in to my motor anywhere.
I have a 911 sc 1978 3.0L and all standard as far as I know.

Thanks Pete, I think my heat valves have been swapped for Dansk ones, cant see any hole to plug this in, unless i'm supposed to have one drilled?

It’s the sensor for auto heat. If you don’t have the auto heat anymore remove it, without cutting, test it and if it’s good sell it. New ones are $400.00
