Well, I'll leave it to the pro's here to cast verdict....suffice to say it looks nothing like the rods I had done with 22mm small-ends, nor the new Carrillo rods that are now in my engine....(no, I wouldn't be happy either)

just about all the rod has this small lack of material after the bearing being sized
the worst one is .127mm bigger ..I took two measurement from zero and 90 deg. boy they are out of round...I cant believe it
5 out of 6 are fine

It looks like the bushing parting line.

Those bushings are pressed in, then honed to the exact wrist pin.

Are you sure they are out of round? They takes a special bore gauge to make that call.

Dial calipers is not accurate enough due to angular variability.

what's your concern? They look find to me. But if you're worried, take some pics of them all and call them and talk to Tim or Zack. They'll probably have you email them the pics... and if they are concerned as well, you can send them back.

For those that don't know, Franko is a retired machinist, although not automotive. He is capable of making the measurements.

If it's out of round, it's out of round, and warranty work.

I didnt question about the wrist pin bore is out around...I question about the workmanship is an acceptable ?
later in the day after I posted the first time...I took the measurement just to make sure is okay to use as is.. one side is good and other side of the wrist pin is larger

Oh, ok. Being out of round is big no-no of course, but the parting line is a question of mine too.

My bushings were solid.

What rods are these? Some bushing sizes are only available in the split style? Did you test it with a wrist pin?

I just spoke to Zack and he said to sent back the rod for rework..he think it may have debris inside the bushing cause to over size...it is no big deal...
as far as the bushing ..those bushing in my connected Rod are standard shop supply
to have the solid bushing install you have to make request

Those bushing is recommend by their shop for racing or under 3.2L
only time they use the solid bushing if your piston rod need to be offset or the customer prefer

that's good to know.. though I wonder why you WOULDN'T want a solid bushing?:confused:

Canyon makes them for the 911 rods...went with them for my rods when rebuilding

A bushing is thicker, so you have to bore out the small end bore. That makes it somewhat weaker. Probably not the best thing on 95mm or larger bores with a 23mm pin.
