Hi,
I've been offered some Solex cams and I'm interested in hearing people's opinions on their suitability for my engine rebuild.
I am having a stock 2.4T engine rebuilt with
original 2.4 crank
90mm Hi comp JE 10.5:1 pistons running on UK Hi octane fuel
90mm Mahle cylinders
2.4 cylinder heads ported to 36mm inlet 32 outlet
either S cams or these Solex cams
Rejetted Zeniths with 36mm venturis
recurved stock 2.4T distributor
MSD ignition and blaster coil

I heard lots of good things about the Solex cams. What are people's opinions on how well they match up with the other components.

I built a 2.8 with 9.5 cr and Solex cams, 2.7S heads, PMO carbs, excellent performance.
Solex is smooth, not peaky like S cams.

I’ve used both on my race car. I would recommend the Solex cams on either a Street car or race car. S cams are just too anemic below about 5,000RPM.
