Weber preliminary setup...

I have a pair of Weber 46s that are going on my short stroke 3.2 twin plug. I will run the
car most of the time at 5000 ft, although it will live at 8200 ft and likely venture towards sea level in the future. Engine specs are as follows...cr 9.8, cams are webcam 171E149 set at 5.6 (lift 490 I 450 E). Tops of cylinders are flame ringed, bottoms are moon cut. Crank is std/std with everything balanced. Case is clearanced for GT3 oil pump.

Question is for a baseline setup for the 46s. There used to be a basic formula for setting up Weber 40s. Should I be using that for the 46s also?

  • 38mm main venturis
  • 150 mains
  • F3 emulsions (perhaps F7s if you experience high speed lean issues)
  • 170 main air corrections
  • 60 idles
  • 90 idle air bleeds
  • short auxiliary venturis

Mains for sea level would be 160
