Valve guide question
Looks like my machine shop had a little trouble with one of my valve guides. What would you do?
Thanks http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1524688227.jpg |
It’s not going to bypass oil or cause excess wear, I d run it

Request that they redo it. I'd be surprised if that showed up at my door from my machinist.

That flange has a pretty good divot in it. You should address that before bolting the headers on.

Thanks. My thought was to check it myself. Its a chance that it was cosmetic on the outer surface. That said, I agree that it should not have left his place like that and will let him know.
Good eye on the divot in the flange. I will take a close look at that too. Appreciate the great comments. |
Actually on mine the guides were installed then it was cnc ported that part of the guide was milled off. So as long as the valve clearance is ok. It might look bad but is most likely ok.

Looks like on old guide to me...not a new one.

I can see by the picture some nicks at the end of the guide if someone blocked off, which I see they did the air injection port they may have dressed as it entered the port and nicked the guide with the burr.
