upgraded oil pump
I'm under impression that a 964 oil pump would be a good upgrade for my 3.0L. If this is correct is $400 a good price? What should I be looking for problem wise? Are there any case modifications required to make the 964 pump fit/work
Thanks again David Last edited by Harpo; 06-13-2018 at 03:35 PM.. |

The pump, used, many times are worn out, that’s the reason to have them for sale
Before spending the money I would have it checked by Supertec or one of the others Bruce |

I just used my 3.0 pump, it's a three rib so it's a pretty good pump.
Some think it contains magic smoke, to me it's a pretty simple pump. I tore it down, made sure it didn't have any FOD, blueprinted it as it had .012" endplay so it now has about .0015-.002" endplay both sides. Then I cleaned up some flashing for better flow, made sure the pick up tube is in good. The last thing I did was to DFL coat the inside of the pump body, I do this in house as I'm a engine builder. Then back together, some locktite on the studs, packed it with assembly lube for fast priming and installed it. I have perfect oil pressure. ![]() ![]() ![]()
