I did a top end refresh on my engine only because my clutch rubber donut failed and I had to take the engine out to install a new clutch. I did that refresh only because the engine had to come out, and other than the machinist's work, I did everything myself so the cost to me was very minimal. The engine had a number power additions and I drove the shyte out of it and it ran like a top.

Each and every 930 forum contributor has told you not to do the bottom end. There is more 930 experience on this forum than any number of Porsche shops, combined. Your engine sounded fantastic on the Youtube video, so most likely, it does not even need a top end refresh. You've driven the thing, what, 600 miles since you've had it? You will probably drive it another 600 miles before you sell it in 8-10 years?

For God sake's man, if you want to blow $20k, go ahead and do it!
