My mind has been ticking over ever since I spoke to the rebuilder and him mentioning that an issue could be too greater engine oil pressure.

So this morning I blocked the oil return side (underside) of the bearing housing and slowly filled it with new oil. This can take a while.
I then spun the turbine with compressed air which had basically no effect. So the housing is full of oil and I left it for a while came back and it had dropped by a few millimetres. So obviously oil is seeping out very slowly.
I then took a piece of hose and through the oil inlet blew into it (rawknees) now I definitely could not suck the chrome from a bumper but with a small amount of pressure, oil puked into the compressor and turbine housings. So if I can cause that with mouth pressure it's no wonder the engine can pump out litres.

Should this not be a suitable test for a leaking turbo feel free to let me know what kind of idiot I am.
