When you think the clutch is slipping, it should be very obvious on the tacho, even by a few hundred. But tyre spin will give you same. But at least you would eliminate an engine issue. If the tach stays steady, you better look elsewhere. Better eliminate the tach one first. easiest. You shouldn't be getting tyre spin with 315s tho. So if tach spikes, look to the clutch. The clearance can decrease a bit when everything gets hot, so make sure you still got free play after a hot run. But 1.5mm should be enough, and you would have to more than resting your foot on pedal to cause that.
