you have a different fuel head than JF. yours is the cast iron head.

I would do more testing before I jumped into the FD as I have too have been down the bad running road, especially if you had good flow out of the injectors.

do the fuel pump tests. flow test out of the FD return side and the flow test to the WUR.
also verify fuel pressures if you can.
verify timing and the advance.
air leaks. there are a LOT of places for air leaks. check intake bolts, ORings for the IC. the connections at the turbo. lots of places for air leaks.

have the mixture checked. you could just be too lean.

about the FD.
see the 6 small allen screws on top. under those is an adjustment for fuel flow to EACH injector.
they not only set balance but also fuel volume.
if you got into it I do not suggest removing the plunger barrel fro the upper part of the head.
there are 6 tiny slits that need to line back up with the holes for the fuel chambers.
