Sidewall to sidewall distance will increase so more of the outer edges of the tread will contact the road. That results in a little bit wider contact patch.
If you're taking corners fast you should notice a little more grip with good tires.
Only downside i can think of is bigger tires cost more and steering becomes a little harder while parking
