Then I guess Matt is correct. But that must not be a '68 trans like I though I read in your post.

BTW that is the casting number not the trans number. You will have some numbers stamped in the bottom, unless they have been worn away, which is possible. Should be something like 911 / 01 .

That trans is better than the 901 as it is somewhat stronger. You will have the dogleg shift pattern. You will need to change your shifter to the older style. Maybe Matt has some suggestions as how to get the fork pivot to last. I was getting two years on them. But that is a different story.

You will also, as mentioned, have to add the old style speedo cable and speedometer.

I have some spare 901/911 clutch pieces and a shifter available if you need them.
