It takes about five minutes to remove the rear mounts and drop the engine enough to very easily reach the plugs from underneath. Reinstalling the mounts takes a bit more effort (lining everything up and holding the washers in place) but is usually accomplished within 10-15 minutes.

By the time you've "taken off all the crap that's in the way" I'm having a post-plug-change beer.

In the time you spend lowering and raising the motor, I am done with the plugs.

Now, if you still have all of the original air injection/pump/hoses, that makes a difference, but I still did it without lowering the engine. Once I removed all of the air injection parts, it's a piece of cake. I always use the factory tool, and remove the IC.
