I experienced 1st hand running no IC with 1.6 bar on my 911. I put the timing down to 15 degrees and hoped for the best. Never heard it ping, but I never stayed in it long.

Boost threshold was silly not having to fill up a big IC. Car was so torquey down low having instant additional airflow when cracking the throttle.

Also, not having the weight of the IC made the car snappier in the initial turn in of the steering wheel. Far less pendulum effect.

I really wanted to leave it off and run meth.

Just wasn't convinced meth could keep intake temps at bay from my research.

Meth works opposite of an IC.

An IC is coldest at first, then elevates over time during boost.

Meth allows hotter temps at 1st, then cools the longer you stay in it.
