Yes, my old friend RE-11 is gone so we must now choose another tire.

There is nothing magic about the 245/45/16 size if your tire choices are thin, so include in your search a few different sizes that fit for better choices in compound. I would look at 245/40/16, 235/45/16, 235/40/16, 225/45/16. Sometimes running a slightly narrower tire in a more favorable compound is faster. A LOT faster. If you feel you MUST run this size, there are still a lot of choices in R-Dot compounds. 888s and RA-1 are in the same grip category as RE71R. Pick one: https://tires.tirerack.com/tires/245%2045-16
