I ran one on cylinder 6. My reasoning: in the back of the engine furthest from the fan, and next to the oil cooler. Its also been my observation that #6 in often the one that shows detonation damage (albeit my sample size is far to small to be statistically significant). Used a ring terminal under the spark plug to connect with thermocouple wire.
