1999 911 Carrera won't start

Posted 08-07-2011 at 08:58 AM by JFTusa

I have a new (to me) 1999 911 Carrera, 41K miles, in great shape all around. I've had it about a month, has been running well. The other day I drove it for about an hour. Came back a couple hours later it started and then died coming out of the garage.

It turns over, battery seems fine. I am not sure that I can hear the whir of the fuel pump (as what i'm hearing might just be the blower motor). I also don't smell any gas at the engine after turning the engine over repeatedly.

I'm thinking it might be a fuel pump or filter. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

John
