911 window issues

Posted 11-07-2011 at 06:15 PM by JFTusa

I purchased a 1999 911 Carrera about 4 months ago . . . low miles (42K), seems to be in good shape all around. But in the last month I've had both window operators fail. The motors are fine, but apparently the plastic parts holding the operating parts have broken.

Nothing untoward has occurred with the vehicle to cause this. Anyone with similar issues? Ideas how to avoid after they are fixed?

Thanks!

1999 911 Carrera won't start

Posted 08-07-2011 at 08:58 AM by JFTusa

I have a new (to me) 1999 911 Carrera, 41K miles, in great shape all around. I've had it about a month, has been running well. The other day I drove it for about an hour. Came back a couple hours later it started and then died coming out of the garage.

It turns over, battery seems fine. I am not sure that I can hear the whir of the fuel pump (as what i'm hearing might just be the blower motor). I also don't smell any gas at the engine after turning the engine over repeatedly....
