Two Stroke

Posted 02-29-2012 at 12:20 AM by Schwarzeritter

These days I have sort of been really into motorcycles. Thou, I like my motorcycles like I like my Women. Classic and Classy.. ( Laughs )

I like modern motorcycles, don't get me wrong.
I don't race motorcycles on a circuit. So maximum performance on a circuit smooth surfaces is not important.

Thou, I like my more classic feeling motorcycles.
I took a Ducati GT1000 frame and built my own version of a 70s Super Sport 750, accept this was a fully blue printed motorcycle with standalone, but it's classy.

It's sort of what I call my take on Neo-Classical. It really has a clean, yet organic feel to it. The V-Twin was a lot of fun, and it sounds really nice and the tuning aspect went smooth.

I then was like, alright I want to make a rival. So I went ahead and developed a sister using a trellis styled frame, I really do like the Trellis frames. I went and I originally decided to use a V-twin from the Aprillia RSV, however I have decided that I will instead use the Aprillia RSV4's engine. Of course both have different displacement.

Most recently however, I have been on this two stroke binge, it's has been awesome. I've had a lot of interest in Yamaha TZ's and OW's and presently working on a road going replica that is something between a Yamaha RD350 OW / TZ.

So far so good, thou I was thinking about fuel injecting, but a lot of the two stroke guys were like, ( Caaaarrrrbuuureeettttoooooorssss ) and I am like ( EEEE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFuuuukking Iiiiiii... )
Verdict is that I seacretly will build a two stroke with EFI, and if a sister motor with carburettors and see which is infact king of the mountian.

I still can't decide on a displacement, I also have a Kawasaki Tripe, good ole three cylinder two stroke. Restoring that one. I had a sick moment and thought about sticking the triple into the Yamaha, but that is like putting a V8 into a 911, it's just not done. So the base motor will stay a 400cc motor then I'll decide if I feel like the chassis is holding it, if so then I might think about 500 or more cc's of two stroke two wheeled death. Thou, I do have to becareful with too much displacement as the two cylinders have their limits and it's a little outside of my norm.

Until next time.
Ciao for now!
