Escape from the North to the South, and Back.

Posted 03-08-2012 at 05:52 PM by Schwarzeritter

Well I am back here in Northern California.

I just picked my father up from SFO, prior to this I was out in OC just relaxing.

I actually had a meeting but we got postponed so oh well, thou I am heading back down south probably by Tuesday.

My poor old man, he looks so tired from his trip and he's aching from his trip. I feel bad for him.
I am kinda excited, I think I found a new home.

I love the city I presently live in, but I miss my home town or a community like that. I can't presently justify buying a home in my home town because it has changed so much.

I talked with an old friend, she said she can't see herself living in her home town as well. Too many outsiders have moved in, damaged the city and enviroment and city social culture that made our home towns so special. My family has been in my home town since World War II. Prior to that we were else where in the US and Europe.

The things I do like about the new city I am trying to find a home in, is that people in this city seem to remind me of how my home town used to be.
Families walking in the streets, people on bicycles, and a really mellow pace of life. The down town has a cool cafe I used to hang out at in past years.

I also really like forest and mountians around, I am further from the ocean thus more inland if anything. But I can accept that, because I still have mountian roads and only 15min from my friends and about 30~40min from my home town via highway and 80mph.

I feel very chipper.

On a more peculiar note. I met up with a past mentor, it was so strange to see how he is now in perspective to say when I was like 17 or 19 as a young man or almost a man kinda vs present day.
Odd, how people see others in only a single shade of light as if you had no progression in more then a decade.

You also begin to see how you held people to such standards and believed in them, to only find that they are now merely human. Crazy how that works. I've had some that are meglamaniacs and then those who are profoundly sound in personality.

Amazing where life takes us. Amazing how some of us are do and others just talk.
