I have had a problem with the timing chain where it slipped a couple of cogs
I have now been told I need two vanos units .
The cost is 106 pounds each
As I have just had the car serviced at this garage about ten days before this happened they now say the cost including vat is 588 pounds including a diagnostic test and the timing done
They also say I can manage without this being done but do I really need them as this will be 1000 pounds on a car ten years old
It has only done 23.500 recorded miles and I have had it for eight years
Any advice appreciated
Many thanks
