Ok, that seems strange, as I dont believe that the A/C Compressor would cause any of the problems you were describing..
|
Finally. . .
Something that they probably should have been able to detect sooner.
Yes, I would also have to agree with Jared on this one. . . smells like fish. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/yltype.gif |
I would ask to see the old compressor and have them explain to you exactly what is wrong with it. It sounds like they are fixing things that dont need to be fixed. The A/C Compressor would not cause the car to buck and die at idle.
|
I asked him why it didn't show an error and he told me that the computor would detecet that
|
Ask him to explain to you exactly how the compressor affects the running of the engine.
|
Just my Opinion
What were they doing?????
The only thing I can think of is a very defective clutch on the compressor or a seized compressor. But you should be able to verify this by spinning the old one. Who knows, I think something is wrong with this picture. . . Just my opinion here. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/yltype.gif |
I picked up the car they washed it filled it with gas, and didn't charge me one dime. OK cool, but I got no explaintion of anything they did, the service man just looked at me and said just take it! it seams to be running ok but after driving that 535 for a month I was spoiled. I drove it to the Acura Dealership and traded it. I guess I will never know what really went wrong to the car. Thanks to everybody here for your help and happy motoring

Good Luck

Thanks

Sounds like the dealership got cuaght in a lie or something and didnt want to be held liable, hence not charging you. I think that in this instance, trading the car might be the right thing to do. I would be suspcicious of the dealer, and I personally would not have left until they explained exactly what was wrong with the car. By law, the dealership has to explain to you what work was done and they have to show you the parts they replaced.

I know your right, but I just wanted to go on with my life and the real **** of it is I only had 8 payments to go and would have paid off

ok

I just pick up my new tsx, Its not even close to a BMW , If I could work on a car I would have kept it, pic so to follow
|
When you say "not even close" what do you mean?
|
First thing is the way the doors sound when you close them. they sound hollow tinny, Second it feels lighter in the stering feed back its just not that wonderful feeling the 3 gave me. Third the txs 4 banger is a high rever, but its not the same smooth six. The gear box and 6 gears are great short clean shifts, but it is not as heavy or refinded FEELING as the 3 is.
|
You can always come back.....
With that being said. . . you're always welcome back....
I'm sure in the next 6 months or so I will be looking to sell my M3 to try and pick up an M3 or M5 2000-2003. We'll see how things go until then. I only have 52K on mine, I'm trying to rack the miles on the Jag in the mean-time. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1063041643.jpg |
I've got a 99 323i that stumbles and acts like it's going to stall at idle when the A/C is on. I checked the fault codes and got a misfire code for all 6 cylinders. Obviously this sounds exactly like the problem here. I want to see if anyone else is having this problem before I spring for a new A/C compressor. This sounds like a weird fix for a misfire problem.
EDIT: More info: After clearing the fault codes, my wife drove the car for several days without running the A/C. I checked for fault codes and found none. I just drove the car with the A/C on and now there are the same 6 misfire fault codes. I went by the dealer and asked them about the problem, they said it was probably the coils. So I asked what are the odds of all six coils going out at the same time, they said it happens. Sounds to me like they're clueless. |
