BMW Roundel Help, warranty/ service bulletin

I just bought an '02 M3 with 16,000 original miles on it that has a couple problems that should have been covered if the original owner had taken it in for them. 1st, the ring and pinion seems to be out of adjustment, clunking on shifts and whining at speed or decel most notably at higer speeds (75+), 2nd the door seals are wearing agianst the door panels and it is difficult to shut the drivers door, and nearly impossible to shut the passenger door that is barely used. The original owner complained of clunking in the rear when it was new and was told it was normal. There was a service bulletin (I think) on the door gaskets. The car was sold new in October or November 2001. The dealer locally (who does not have the greatest reputation) said if it's one day out of warranty they will not cover anything. Any suggestions, or help in getting this covered (mainly adjusting the rear). I assume the dealer told me correctly that the drivetrain is 4 year except the motor which is 100k and not sure how many years.
