BMW Roundel 328i lack of power

Hi Everyone,

I am brand new to this forum. I currently own a 1993 325ci, and I am quite happy with it, goes great with billstein shocks, hamann exhaust, bbs wheels etc. About a year ago I purchased a damaged 1999 328ci (auto), and been slowly getting it done. It has been on a chassi machine, small jobs been done on it, been painted etc. BUT my problem is that the car lacks in power. Doest matter if I put the pedal to the floor, from 0 - 60 km/h it is only going up very slowly, feels like the kick down is not working, or something.
And also the excellerator pedal is so hard to push, need serious thigh muscle to drive it.
Could anyone help me with any suggestions?

(....and please dont tell me that I am too weak to drive it thats why its too slow or that I need to go to the gym..... thats not the case. )

Thank You!!
