E46 Coolant Temp Sensor Reading
Have replaced thermo, water pump, temp sensor - bled system and car runs well. Why would dashboard display needle point slightly past, but still in 'normal' (dead center) range for coolant temp? My 5 series needle reads dead center. What gives? TIA, David

It should be at TDC. How much is "slightly past" a needle width? Is it always high or does it move? How long does it take to get hot and then move past TDC?

It's more than a needle width - but still in the acceptable zone - ie doesn't go near 'red'. I have owned the car for the past year, and it's always done it - just always assumed it was temp sensor - so I never rushed to replace. Normal time to get hot and always stays at same point on display.
