Gear Box warning Light
Hi guys, I own a 325i E46. At times when cold-starting my car, the gear indicator on the dashboard gives off the gear box warning light. Meaning the car will only move in gear 3 and reverse. But switching the ignition off and back on usually resolves the challange. This does not happen always.
Secondly, and recommendations for a good ODB2? one that is not expensive but is functional also. |

a good ODB2? You mean a tool to read/clear codes?
Peake just released their new model that handles e46s. I have other Peake tools and have always been well pleased with their products. With regard to your transmission warning, the tranny monitoring and control are very sensitive to voltage. If your battery is getting old and your voltage dips very low while cranking, or if you have a bad ground connection somewhere, I would not be surprised to see the problem you describe. |
