2001 325i large hole in return hose to oil dip stick car runs great no codes normal temp .it dose smoke big cloud of white smoke on start up for about 10 / 15 seconds ,
dose not do it driving only on start up. i would be thankful for any help thanks. |

I am at a loss as to the cause of the white cloud of smoke. I hope it is not water. Another thing that can cause white smoke is brake fluid leaking from the master cylinder into the booster.
The hose to the dipstick is the oil drain from your PCV valve. If you have never cleaned your PCV, I strongly suggest that when you get in there to replace that hose, you disconnect the PCV hoses from the valve cover and the intake manifold and flush the PCV system out before putting on the new hose. Something like SeaFoam solvent should work well. Removing the PCV valve to clean it is a real PITA, regardless of whether you remove the intake manifold to do it or not, so I would avoid that if at all possible. |
