2006 325Xi faulty foot well module kills the battery
Here's my experience with the 325xi. After BMW NA saying, sorry, its not their problem my daughters 8 yr old car has problems, I've had it with BMW.
The fuel pump went ,3 window regulators went south , now a $1350 bill for a faulty?? foot well module that killed two batteries, I should have bought another Volvo. Heres my letter to BMW NA Subject: Bmw Corporate letter 325XI 12/29/2014 My daughter's Christmas present this year was unfortunately a BMW foot well monitor,a battery, and a 1350.00 repair bill that went along with it. This 325xi repair bill is preceded by a faulty water pump repair and two or three failed window regulators. I can accept general maintainence/repairs on a 2006 BMW 325 Xi, but this foot well module failure (that ruined one battery and possibly another one) is not what I expect from BMW. The 1350.00 repair bill and the insistence of the dealer in Dublin Ohio that they would not work on the car with the one week old battery( that was installed in the car while she was visiting home)and insisted on selling my daughter a new BMW battery is also not what I expect from BMW I own a 2011 X5 in addition to the 325 xi that we sold to our daughter.I also am an avid multi bike BMW motorcyclist. If we had purchased a lesser vehicle than the 325XI ,I would not have an issue with the exorbitant repair bill because I believe in a quality marque and I believe you get what you pay for. At this point, BMW is failing in that regard. This is not what I expect from BMW. I also believe that this is a component failure in a 9 yr old auto that should be the responsibility of BMW to bear ,and not the consumer. Especially when the repair bill has become my daughter's Christmas present. I am respectfully requesting that the repair charges for this foot well monitor be refunded by BMW North America, and that you stand behind the quality of the car that you build. This would go along way in restoring my faith in the marquee and also allow me to buy a well deserved and a bit more heartfelt Christmas present for my daughter. I am sure the executives at BMW would not accept the notion of an excessive bill to repair a car that shouldn't have required a repair in the first place, as a Christmas present for their daughter. So am I expecting too much from a "quality " automobile mfgr??? hb
