FAILURES 4 window regs, water pump and FT well module
my tirade to NA,Their arrogance has put me over the edge
It is evident to me that there is a lack of quality with the malfunction in the foot well module , the replacement of three out of four of the window regulators and the water pump replacement . This is the last straw for us,Bmw ownership is not worth it. That's unfortunate because BMW ,just lost a future customer in my daughter who has had to deal with, this but any future vehicles that I purchase. The 2011 X5 that I drive will be replaced with something other than a BMW, rest assured. Again, I do not see these as regular maintenance issues that are the responsibility of the consumer, but mistakes and perhaps cost cutting measures in vehicle design and development. BMW has left a bad taste in my mouth not only for the X5 and 325xi that my daughter drives, but the BMW motorcycles in my garage. I would welcome a reply from NA that says I am being borderline ridiculous in my expectations of BMW NA to stand behind its product quality in a 8 yr old car, but I doubt that will occur! The other people who lose out in this scenario is my local BMW dealer. While their service may be and is very good, your failure to stand behind the product overshadows their service level and impacts future vehicle sales to two former customers that have the ability to buy the product. |

1 st BMW letter 12/2014....
My daughter's Christmas present this year was unfortunately a BMW foot well monitor,a battery, and a 1350.00 repair bill that went along with it. This 325xi repair bill is preceded by a faulty water pump repair and two or three failed window regulators. I can accept general maintainence/repairs on a 2006 BMW 325 Xi, but this foot well module failure (that ruined one battery and possibly another one) is not what I expect from BMW. The 1350.00 repair bill and the insistence of the dealer in Dublin Ohio that they would not work on the car with the one week old battery( that was installed in the car while she was visiting home)and insisted on selling my daughter a new BMW battery is also not what I expect from BMW I own a 2011 X5 in addition to the 325 xi that we sold to our daughter.I also am an avid multi bike BMW motorcyclist. If we had purchased a lesser vehicle than the 325XI ,I would not have an issue with the exorbitant repair bill because I believe in a quality marque and I believe you get what you pay for. At this point, BMW is failing in that regard. This is not what I expect from BMW. I also believe that this is a component failure in a 9 yr old auto that should be the responsibility of BMW to bear ,and not the consumer. Especially when the repair bill has become my daughter's Christmas present. I am respectfully requesting that the repair charges for this foot well monitor be refunded by BMW North America, and that you stand behind the quality of the car that you build. This would go along way in restoring my faith in the marquee and also allow me to buy a well deserved and a bit more heartfelt Christmas present for my daughter. I am sure the executives at BMW would not accept the notion of an excessive bill to repair a car that shouldn't have required a repair in the first place, as a Christmas present for their daughter. No response from NA.Beware of these issues |
