What about replacing the gauge cluster LEDs to a different color?
 
What about replacing the LEDs to a different color? Perhaps where or blue? Something other that that orange glow

It's do-able. I've seen this with individuals changing the bulb color or putting colored paper over it to emit a different glow. What are the details of what E46 you have?
