Miss fire when starting

OK this has been an on going problem and we have been back to BMW on a number of occations and the last time I ended up shouting at them and they did indeed move but it's back again......

The result was they changed the coils as it seams that the model we have has crap French Electric components and this was also the year they made the cars with coils for each cylinder..

They changed some of them and the car was fine for a time...... it's back again..and now when we start the car it miss fires 1 in every 3 starts..

I am worried that it could fill the cat with crap and then that will fail.. I don;t like to rev the engine from cold but it does clear the miss fire and then all is well

What advise can any one give please...

Oh it's a 320i 2002 cab

They should have changed all of the coils as a set. There is a recall on some of the new style coils. There is a color that indicates the old coil, but I dont remember what color. I dont know if your year could have the recalled coil.

Are you getting a CEL? How do your plugs look?

Will have the plugs and have a look the Dealer was rubbish they had the car in 5 times and in the end the road side BMW tec told us about the fault and replaced some but not all of the coils.

So avoid Scottall BMW dealership in the UK in Chandlers Ford.. EVEN the top tec they had who has his own dairy couldn't fix it.. Muppets
