SES Code P0015

Got a SES light and code P0015. Did some research and thought I might need to replace the VANOS solenoid and did that. Code returned. Checking around to find out next step. Any suggestions? I've read that replacing the VANOS seals could fix the problem or replacing the camshaft sensor.

Along with code, the engine (RPM's) "jumps" when you first stop (not consistent). Have heard a "ticking" in the engine when idle and does increase with acceleration (cannot be heard inside the vehicle).

Where do I start?
