Question 2001 540 brake rotors

My 01 540 6 speed sat for six weeks after driving on salted roads resulting in excessive salt corrosion where the brake pad was resting on the rotors. After driving for approximately 500 mile I still have a "slight" pulsating when braking. In speaking with the local dealer they said...

" The rotors on the 540s are very thin to start with and can't be turned down. My only option is to replace all the rotors and pads."

This doesn't sound right! I have a E34 service manual and rotor grinding (turning) is one of the recommended procedures. What do you think about 2001 rotors???
