525iT Auto Trans error code question
 

My wife has a 95 525iT and the Check Control message has been flashing intermittently. I downloaded the error codes from the engine and transmission computers. I get code 16 from the engine and code 06 from the transmission. I believe these probably correspond to codes 1216 and 1206 respectively. According to the Bentley manual, DME code 1216 refers to the throttle potentiomenter and I understand how to troubleshoot that. There is no mention in Bentley of the transmission codes. Does anyone know what code 06 or 1206 means for the transmission computer?

I am using a Palm Scan Tool purchased from Euro Specialty Tools if anyone is interested. It cost $425.00 and the jury is still out on whether it was a good investment. There's something wrong with a scan tool that doesn't read out codes in factory format and does not include a table of error code values and what they mean.

Sorry don't know Mark. I got a code from the transmission using a friends tool, change the oil and reset, the code did not appear again.
