Power door locks/windows not working

1990 525i -- Today while I was trying to improve the Drivers side power locking, I disabled all the power locks, and all the windows, and sunroof somehow. The drivers side key has not been able to lock the drivers side door, so I tried to fix. I took off door panel, and power locks and windows still worked, I unplugged the connectors to the door lock, and then replugged back, Fuse #1 blew. I replaced the fuse, the on-board computer worked again, but now NO power windows, or door locks work! Did I blow a relay?, If so which one should I start with? Thanks

I would check the comfort relay.

How exactly were you trying to "improve" the power locks?

FYI, but its crucial that you disconnect the battery anytime you are working on electricall components. ayou can end up with problems just like this one. Sounds like you touched something and sent a spike somewhere through the system, most likely damaging the comfort relay.

Update to No control of doors/windows

Jared, Yes I probbaly shorted something, but what I was attempting to look at at was, the key on the drivers side never locked any of the doors, but would unlock them. I have had to reach in from the back door and push the drivers side door lock manually down to lock the doors. So which relay is the comfort relay, is it in the fuse box or 1 of the 3 under the dashboard.
And do you have a way of identifing which 1 it may be.

Thanks

If I could email a picture of my Fuse box to you, maybe that would help? I'm ready to send one if someone would provide an email address.

My driver side door won't lock/unlock with automatic lock

I have an '89 BMW 535i, and the door on the driver's side will not lock or unlock with the automatic lock system.

When I stick the key in the driver's side door, all doors unlock except the driver side door. Is this a common problem? And what is a comfort relay for?
