528it ABS problem - Fixed !!

The problem described below was repaired by changing all 4 wheel speed sensors. Very strange to me that all the sensors would fail at once. I'm hoping it hangs in there and I don't end up having a bad controller.
--------------------------------
I have a 2000 528it that energizes the ABS system on a dry road. When I start the car, no 'ABS Brake' light is on the dash but when the brakes are applied the ABS system comes on pulsing what I think is a front brake. Then the 'ABS Brake' light comes on along with the Stability Control light and the ABS system stops working and I have good normal non-ABS brakes.

Thanks,
Michael
