99 540 auto transmission rattle, help
i have a 99 540 automatic, and when applying load at low rpm to the transmission, I hear a rattle noise from the front of the car, and then it drops out of over-drive, and then back. It on;y seems to happen when applying a a small amount of throttle, such as a slight incline on the highway. The downshift always seems to have the rattle before the downshift.
has anyone had this type of problem? A transmission shop checked out the transmission, and seems fine. My guess is electronics. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Try a fluid flush. Use a high quality fluid, like Royal Purple.
