Need Resetting Oil Service Light / 2001 540i

I just changed my oil & filter with fresh Mobil 1 for the winter and now need to reset my oil serive interval indicator on the dash.

I cant recall a set of short steps to reset the light without the need for any tools. If memory serves me correctly it was by puttin gkey in first position and holding computer info button and pushing trip odometer or something like that.

Can anyone help me with this?

Key off. Press and hold the odometer reset button. Key to accessory ONLY (1st click) do not light up the entire dash (do not use RUN position)

Hold odometer reset button until eash says either "oil service" or "inspection" with "reset" next to it

quickly release and press odometer button again and hold until "reset" flashes. At that point, release and hold button 3rd time untill it says "end SIA"

You're done.

Thanks Randy. I reset the lights with no problem. It did take me a couple of times to get it right tho, but that was my fault. The dome light kept going off and I was left sitting in the dark trying to read your directions.
