Does anyone know how to reset the "brake linings" warning light for a 1994 530i after the linings wear sensor, pads and rotors have all been changed?

yes.
You reset that goldarn %^&*&^^^^% thing by clipping the leads from the sensor at the caliper, baring both wire ends, twisting them together and taping them off; do this for both the front and the rear and that stupid light will never go off again. It's a stupid 'check control' module. If I need a nanny to tell me my pads are getting worn I don't deserve to drive a high-performance vehicle. a code reset tool will NOT cure this, either. I've been there, done that, and my fix is the one I like best
