Bavaria + 528e what a treat!
So I posted in the Bavaria forums how I got this nice little gem for a measly $300. I knew it had a different motor dropped in but my guess was a 1980 motor perhaps.
A few phone calls revealed my Bavaria actually sports a 1988 538e under the hood. Apparently at most is has 75,000 miles on it and that the original owner was very displeased with the condition it was kept in before I aquired the car. It had a cracked oil pan. People turned the key to put it on the lift and to move it in and out of the garage I imagine. And who knows how long the guy who gave it to me drove it before he noticed the Valdeez spill in his driveway. Today I will put in the 5 quarts and pray to the gods of unseen luck that not only does she start, and not only does the JB weld hold up but passes a compression test. I cant wait....35mpg highway..again. I love the e motors.

Yeah was a mistype.
The more I dig the more interesting it gets. Seems it was a 3.0 motor bored out to 3.2. As soon as I get a camera ill start posting pics of the motor in the car. Sadly the body is pretty rusty on the passenger side. Not sure what I should really do with this little car.
