528 i power window inoperable

Just got our 528iT and the only issue is that the driver's side window went down ok but now I can't get the motor to take it up again. It runs but only for a second or so. My 911 had the same issue and was a piece of cake to fix. I'm concerned about taking the door panel off with the airbag right there. What can I do to prevent it from activating? What should I be looking for once I get the panel off?
Thanks for the help.

For air bag, pull the battery cables, let the car sit 15 minutes and be careful.

Will the motor take it up if you hold the button down?

Look to see if the motor is spinning but a piece is broken or detached. If the motor doesn't spin check for power at the motor and also binding.

Thanks, I'll do that with the battery.

The window is loose in the frame so I can assume it became detached but the motor itself only seems to work in the down mode.

I don;t have a Bentley manual yet so does the panel just pop off and maybe some screws like most cars?

Thanks for your help, Jeron. Hopefully I can repay the favor in the future.

I had a loose window and it was just a loose bolt on the swing arm, but mine never stopped working.

I suspect there will be a couple of screws at the door pull, pull the surround off the opener lever then the rest are just pop rivets.

Wow, that was simple!!
I found the glass had come out of the clamps for some reason. I simply reinstalled it, tightened the clamps and it works great. It seems to be closing in the frame properly so unless I have a huge air gap or noise it should be good.

Thanks again.

I'm glad it was so easy, its usually the opposite for me.
