m50 top end rebuild
Hi All:
I had to rebuild my 95 e34 m50 top end due to overheat and blown head gasket. Got it all put back together and the car fires but dies in a second unless I pump the gas pedal like a maniac. I bought a code default reader and the two following problems are noted: control unit supply Air Mass Sensor What the heck is control unit supply? What should I do now? Thanks, Tally |

Is there a number associated with error code? If so could you tell us because otherwise we are guessing as to ignition control unit, idle speed control unit, ABS control unit or ??? Did you hook up all wires and make sure all voltages resistances are correct ? Did you perhaps cross a couple of wires ? Or chaffe them during install ? Or while re assembling male to female connectors somehow bend one or more of the prongs so contact is poor to non existant? OR or or?
As for your AMS, you can purchase aerosol cleaner from NAPA or some one like that, take the unit off, sray itdown and let sit till dry. I've had mixed results but it's woth a go since an air flow, (air mass), sensor is expensive. Good luck and happy motoring |
