Can I use a E28 528 starter on a E28 535?

Does anyone know if a starter from a E28 528 will work on a 1987 535is? Or does the starter have to be one for a 535? I am trying to be a cheap ass and buy a started at Pick a part and it is almost imposable to find a 535.

apparently not. I selected the part number of an 1987 535 with manual gear, left hand drive and the starter part number I then pasted into the cross reference and it shows these other cars
