Question 525I M50 Accelerator Cable

After re-installing the intake on the vehicle, I am about to re-attach the accelerator and cruise control cables to the throttle body. Is there something special one needs to do to force the rubber grommets into the mounting bracket? Do you dis-Assembly the cable, install the rubber ends and then run the cable through the rubber grommets ends or do you try and force the cable with the grommets into the mounting bracket using a screw driver and pulling on the cables?

Please advise again the vehicle is a 1993 525I M50 with an automatic trans.

Thanks
