E39 Brake Master Cylinder Removal
So I'm removing the cylinder and it appears there's zero clearance between the booster and strut housing wall. What am I missing?

Well, since no one came up with the right answer I'll have to give it away.
To remove the brake master cylinder from the car, you must also remove the four booster mounting nuts and disconnect pin from pedal lever. This must be done in the upside down, half-lotus position inside the car. Once the booster can be moved away from the firewall, it can be angled so that the cylinder can be withdrawn. Reassembly is the reverse.

Thank you. What a horrible predicament . . . and it must be a common one too.
