Fuel Starved...
Need some help guys! Went to work Monday morning with no sign of any problem(s). left work for home and it, 2001 530i, drove home smoothly. about two hours later, I go out to run some errands and it was hard to get her started. after four attempts, she starts, a bit rough idle, and when I depress the gas pedal it sounds like it is starving for fuel and upon release of the gas pedal, it dies! my first thought is fuel filter, followed by the fuel pump. read some threads in the forum, but I am still in the dark. is there a function I can perform to find out if it is either one?? Trying to fix it myself...dealership is last option.

have to think that you need to check for vacuum leak cracked hose etc.

Staying in line with stated problem, I borrowed a Peake code scanner. Came up with following codes. Table 19 - 8F...Leak Detected. Table 41 - F1, F2 , and EF. Book does not have aTable 41 so I don't have an idea as to what they mean. Have both service manuals, but they are very limited when it comes to trouble shooting. Any and all help appreciated. Thanks!
