HVAC only works while accelerating

I have a 2000 BMW 528i and recently have been having issues with my HVAC. Both the Heating and A/C only work while I am accelerating. If I stop at a light or when I first start my car, nothing. The fans for defrosting work the same way. I'm sure there's a simple explanation, I just don't know what that would be. Thank you in advance if you happen to know a solution! It just so happens that the lights for, and my seat warmers went out about 2 days later. I doubt there's a connection, but who knows.

Do you notice if your radio working? When it happen try to take notes what is not working. That may lead to bad Ign. switch.
