Trouble with rear plastic intake cover

Hello,

I have a 1997 540i... and a question...

Still donīt know why the rear intake manifold plastic cover blew out...literally in fragments.
Can you figure out the reason for this...?
I have a new spare and am ready to install it.

Furthermore, the blow had the inner vent tube connecting both front and rear covers get loose.

Do you know if it is possible to set the front end of that tube to the plug without taking off the front cover.
If so, please tell how to...
